Lukera Energy named NC IDEA MICRO grant recipient
A competitive grant from NC IDEA backing North Carolina's most ambitious early-stage founders.

Lukera Energy is honored to be selected as a recipient of the Spring 2026 NC IDEA MICRO grant, a highly competitive program supporting some of North Carolina’s most ambitious early-stage startups.
The NC IDEA MICRO program awards $10,000 project-based grants to companies actively validating their business models and accelerating commercialization efforts. In addition to funding, recipients participate in an eight-week customer discovery and product launch program while gaining access to NC IDEA’s statewide network of advisors and entrepreneurs.
This spring’s cycle drew 338 applicants from across North Carolina, with only fifteen companies selected. Lukera Energy was proud to be recognized alongside a strong group of founders building innovative companies across energy, healthcare, AI, cybersecurity, and consumer products.
At Lukera, we are developing a scalable platform for converting wasted methane emissions into high-value oxygenates through low-energy electrochemical processes. Our work is focused on unlocking stranded and underutilized resources while creating cleaner, more distributed pathways for chemical production.
This support from NC IDEA arrives at an exciting stage for our team as we continue advancing our technology, refining commercialization pathways, and building strategic partnerships.
We are grateful to NC IDEA for investing in North Carolina founders and helping accelerate technologies with the potential to create meaningful industrial and environmental impact.
